The simplest way to stretch your feet is by taking a walk. But for those who want something a little more specific, we have some easy exercises for your feet, toes, and ankles.
- Facing a wall, lift your arms out and place your hands against the wall. Step one foot back and place it flat on the floor, while moving your other leg forward. Continue until you feel a gentle stretch in the back of your back. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat with your other foot.
- Sit in a chair with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Extend one leg in front of you, with your heel touching the ground and your toes pointing up towards the ceiling. Lean forward and place your hands on the knee of your bent leg. Hold for 60 seconds and repeat with your other foot.
- Stand with your feet together. Lift one foot and curl your toes under, pressing the tops of your toes down to the ground. Apply minimal pressure so you feel a gentle stretch. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds and repeat with your other foot.
You can repeat these exercises as many times as you feel you need, making sure not to push yourself. If you feel any pain or discomfort, stop stretching. For the best results, continue these exercises every day.
