What You Need to Know About Blisters
Do you have a blister on your foot? Don’t pop it! Popping a blister exposes the bubble-like pocket to germs, leading to a possible infection. Instead, here are some safe and easy things you can try to eliminate it!
What is a Blister?
A blister is a fluid-filled bubble that can be found on your feet, among other places on the body. You can usually find them on the sides of your feet, on top of your toes, and on your heels. Walking may grow to be painful. If you wear flip-flops, sandals, or tight-fitting shoes often, you may notice extra discomfort during the day due to friction against the blister.
Now that you know what you’re dealing with, here’s what you can do about your blister.
Keep It Covered
A blister is your body’s way of protecting itself against repeated friction. It heals skin damage. So, let your body heal and allow the blister time to do what it does best. Wash your hands every time you touch your blister or the surrounding area. Also, keep it as dry as possible! It may be tempting to pop your blister but leave it alone.
Use Padding
If walking is painful and aggravating, we recommend adding extra padding and cushioning. These tools provide the best way to leave your blister alone while easing discomfort. Remember, you don’t want to be the one to pop it! If it happens on its own, that’s fine.
